2022 was a year of continuous gratitude for me. I have never prayed so much in my life, I couldn’t help to be in awe of how much love I received – after being in such a dark place – I didn’t think this was possible for me.
The year started with many nerves of what was to come because my Thailand journey was initially not meant to be done alone but my friend and I ended up having a difference in opinion on how we wanted to approach this adventure and so we decided to go our separate ways.
But when God closes one door – I had no idea how many more doors He would open up for me
Thailand had its ups and downs but the people I met along the way lifted me to new levels I didn’t think my life could elevate to – new friendships of love, respect and empowering me to see the light I hold within. I challenged myself to new adventures and experiences that I am so glad I said yes to.
January – adjusting to the 12 hour time difference and began to quickly build friendships – I know will last for a lifetime.
February – said goodbye to Chiang Mai to discover a few of Thailand’s islands – started off in Krabi
March – discovered Phuket, visited the beautiful Khao Sok National Park, and Koh Samui
April – discovering the beautiful island of Koh Pha-ngan and Koh Tao – in this month I began my meat free journey and realized my love for yoga
May – said goodbye to Koh Phangan, rang in year 38 in Pai and what a magical week it was, got my third tattoo – and experienced a week in Cambodia visiting Angkor Wat – then experienced a tearful goodbye to Thailand
June – came home to visit my father’s grave for the first time on his birthday, and got to spend a lot of time loving on my family – who I dearly missed
July – celebrating my mom’s 65th birthday, girls weekend in Bastrop and another girls weekend in Houston
August – spent the month with my growing baby girl; my niece Evan
September – spent a weekend in Miami with my sisters, and attended my 20th High School reunion
October – bartended at Austin City Limits Music Festival, got to see my girl Rachna in the Bay and overcame some of my fears, and threw a baby shower for my bestie, Karina.
November – spent the month exploring and discovering Guatemala
December – coming home to see my family and reflecting on such a beautiful and impactful year
So this is for Kate, Rachna, Briana, Sara, Nicole, Lauren, Brent, Erica, Eva, Sade, Lindsie, Desh, Kavi, Asher, Mo, Ranay, Catherine, Jun, Olga, Miguel, Shannon, Sarah, Isabelle, Johnny, Victoria, Stacey and Raymond. Thank you for coming into my life and sharing your beautiful energy with me in my time of need. I am a better person because of each one of you. ✨
I am thankful for my community back home; my mom and sister who are my constant sounding board – I love you both.
Grateful for both Current Meditation and Black Swan Yoga staff who pushed me deeper into my practices.
2022 was a year of growth and can’t wait to continue this energy and work into 2023!
