Where has been your favorite place to visit? I get asked this question so many times – and although almost every destination and journey that I have had the opportunity to discover almost always holds a special story, experience in my heart.
My travels so far have led me to visit 5 out of the 7 continents in the world. Within the 5 continents I have seen; 23 countries, 46 cities!
In this post I want to tell you about the top five destinations I have been blessed to experience and to fall in love with not only the people but the culture, history, food, and the nightlife!
5. Spain
Spain has been the home to some of the world’s greatest artists and has galleries and museums to match. Culturally, the country is littered with amazing old buildings, from Roman aqueducts to Gothic cathedrals. Best time to visit is in late spring (April to June) or early autumn (September to October) From the intoxicating taste of sangria in Barcelona to the sizzling rat-a-tat-tat of flamenco in Sevilla, this country creates its own beat amid the heat. Regardless if you do a solo trip or come with friends or family – Spain is a country that can not be missed.
Don’t get it twisted – even though Spain ranks 5th on my list – it is in no way shape or form my least favorite. In fact, I been to Spain 3x and I plan on going back for further exploration.
My 3rd time coming to Spain however was the most adventurous and exhilarating time I have had thus far. 2017, was the year I finally decided to do my first ever solo trip! Read about my 12-day solo journey here.
DONT MISS – heading to the Temple of Debod; an ancient Egyptian temple that was dismantled and rebuilt in Madrid in 1970. What is even better is if you check it out right before sunset – just beyond the temple you will see sweeping views of Madrid and the Royal Palace of Madrid.

4.Italy
Where to begin – this country and destination is simply beyond words, but yet here I will try.
Italy is a seductive mix of history, culture, fashion and cuisine. It’s impossible not to fall in love with a country which is connected so strikingly to the ancient glories of the past and the worldly pleasures of today. Home to many of the universes greatest works of art, architecture and gastronomy, Italy excites, inspires and moves like no other. Best time to visit is in late spring (April to May) or early autumn (September to October), due to the pleasant temperatures and lighter crowds.
Did you know that Italy has more Unesco World Heritage cultural sites than any other country on Earth? From the Sistine Chapel frescoes in the Vatican, to the jaw-dropping architecture of the Basilica di San Marco in Venice, and even standing in the presence of Michelangelo’s David in Florence; Italy is simply a cultural conundrum, it is very much thrilling as it is overwhelming! I highly encourage to allow yourself a week or more when coming over to visit!

DONT MISS – seeing the Colosseum – the iconic ancient Roman gladiatorial arena. If possible try and view both during the day and at night. It is truly a sight to see. This oval amphitheater is located in the centre of the city of Rome, and is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built.

3. Colombia
Colombia is South America’s best-kept secret – until now 😉
For decades the country was torn apart by a drug war and conflicts and when people think of Colombia – Pablo Escobar is usually the first thing people think of. But Colombia is far from being a place to avoid, the country has undergone an impressive transformation that warrants you writing in this country in your must travel to list.
I discovered through my travels in both Medellin and Cartagena that Colombia offers some of South America’s most diverse and breathtaking landscapes. Colombia’s dry season runs from December to March – however on the Caribbean coast side the weather changes very little – making it a perfect getaway year round!
Did you know Colombia is one of the most biodiverse places on earth? Whales frolic just off the beaches of the Pacific coast, while monkeys and jaguars hide within the dense jungles of the Amazon. With more species than anywhere else, bird watching here is phenomenal.
Colombia is so alluring and intoxicating – I am anxious to return and discover more of this incredible country.
DONT MISS – visiting Cartagena when you head to Colombia – hands down this is most beautiful city in the country. Every colorful street you venture on has a relaxed and tropical vibe. Be ready to take pics at every turn 😉 PS. watch the sunset from top the city wall – its picturesque.

2. Thailand
Thailand is literally the total package – its natural beauty is jaw-dropping, the architecture is eye-catching, & the most sensual and fabulous cuisine you will ever taste. I know why and how everyone says Southeast Asia will instantly get under your skin. No joke even your taste buds will start to crave a daily dose of the local fare – still dreaming of Khao Soi –
Trust when I say all 5 of your senses will be awakened during your journey to the Land of Smiles. Whether you want to be in a land of luxury or on a backpackers budget – Thailand is literally for everyone. I truly loved my 2 week experience here – so much so that I am planning to move there in 2021!

Bangkok
Chiang Mai
Phuket
DONT MISS – heading to an ethical & I stress ethical elephant sanctuary (you shouldn’t be able to ride on them) – it is an experience you don’t want to miss. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is the one I visited but you have others like Elephant Nature Park or Elephant Retirement Park – whichever you decide be ready to be amazed by their beauty and size.

1. Iceland
Iceland is nothing if not dramatic, a land of fire and ice, of stark, treeless landscapes and a rich mythical folklore that’s quite alive among Icelanders. The fire comes from the island’s geothermal activity, which provides a large amount of hot water and heat for Iceland’s 300,000+ residents. The ice comes from the glaciers, which have carved many fjords along Iceland’s 3k coastline.
From the bubbling geysers, to the tundra forests, volcanic craters and the gushing waterfalls while circling this eerie land of northern lights and volcanic fire Iceland is beyond majestic in all her beauty.
Definitely allow yourself at least one full week to try and touch parts of this country and experience everything Iceland has to offer! Click here for my full 5 night Iceland journey! Something about this country truly touched my soul, and I can’t seem to shake it. The seemingly untouched land leaves your jaw open at every turn. Even though it is one of the most expensive European countries , save your coins to splurge on this magical piece of the world.
DONT MISS – experiencing the Blue Lagoon, it is said that – some people came to the water for healing, others for pleasure. But all who came, left with a profound sense of wonder.
Also, if your coins allow definitely try and stay at the Retreat at the Blue Lagoon

I want to know! – tell me below in the comments – what places are in your top 5?!
safe travels
