Wow! Finally made it to the beautiful island of St. Lucia.
My day started from the night before where I literally never went to bed; partially due to the fact I did not finish packing and was too excited to sleep!
Departed for IAH airport around 430A to catch a 6A Delta flight which connected through ATL before landing in St. Lucia (UVF) at 224P
Once I arrived I was greeted by my two girlfriends that joined me from Austin for my 32nd birthday celebration.

Before departing for our trip I researched and found a tour operator that not only does airport transfers but also provides group and private island excursions. Real St. Lucia Tours was an amazing company that was always available for any questions, and last minute changes when we wanted to change our plans, I would HIGHLY recommend them; Sam and Richard were both wonderful guides that definitely shaped our trip into something beyond amazing!
After arriving at the Capella Marigot Bay we knew immediately we were a world away, a world in which we never wanted to leave! We were greeted by concierge with an ice cold hibiscus tea and cool towel.

We were driven to our room and given a brief tour of the property, we were then taken to our One Bedroom Bayview Suite with stunning views of the property and beyond. Because Capella is all about their guest and their experience they definitely made me feel loved with the decorated bed.

Once settled in we made our way to the Rum Cave on the property in which we had set up a private tasting of St Lucian Rums while learning the history of both the country and the process of making rum, from a rum connoisseur, Dennis. My favorite was the 1931 St. Lucian Rum (Deep mahogany core with vibrant brown rim. Full nose of sweet honeyed fruit with hints of chocolate and tobacco. Good oak integration with vanilla tones)

After having an educational rum tasting we decided to eat on the patio of the Rum Cave restaurant and bask in the beauty of what was around us. We enjoyed a yummy dinner while appreciating our years of friendship. Once dinner was completed we walked by the marina where there were plenty of yachts sitting along the dock on the bay.

As we passed one of the boats we noticed a group of older gentleman that had sat next to us at dinner, as we passed their boat I noticed peanut butter sitting out, so since I was on one (from all that rum tasting) I asked out to them, “Is that peanut butter?” One gentleman replied, “Why yes, it is, would yall like to come aboard for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?” Never have been on a boat that size we all said yes and joined them, as we sat for the next hour talking about where we came from, and hearing about their sailing travels.

I grabbed a snap of the property as we left their boat heading back to our room, to change into our swimming suits and take midnight dip in the hotel pool. We ended staying up til about 3am enjoying each others company and basking in the beauty of our day in St Lucia! So excited to see what else is in store for us this extended weekend!
